Alberto dragged me outta bed at 11am on a Sat morning
to have some good ol' fatty breakfast
of cos i had to jump outta bed
- of cos it didnt turn out to be as gd as
my all-time favourite Denny's
it still did the trick

we were lucky enuff
to get stuck in a public protest
along the biggest street in Madrid
Damn! we took lk 1 hr
instead of the usual 10mins' drive home
bt it was quite interesting
to see police blocking out roads
for bored pple to walk n protest lol..
it was actually a protest against the govt's
decision w regards to the terrorists attack

DAY TRIP TO TOLEDO!!
One of my fav cities in Spain,
we re-visited it after fallin' in love with it 2 yrs ago..
I'd never forgotten the medieval streets
the charming winding paths
n the gothic cathedral
it all looked exactly the same
as how i remembered it ;)

Last Wkend in El Escorial

San Lorenzo del Escorial
is a gorgeous lil city outside of Madrid
just an hour drive away
I was amazed by how every single city in Spain
just has sth interesting to offer!

It's famous for its huge Monastery
and General Franco's burial ground.
check out the grand monastery...

Franco's burial ground.
Franco used to be the dictator of Spain
when he ruled Spain, development was hindered
innocents were slaughtered,
there was no freedom, liberty, nobody had any say.
He died only in the 70's
n that was when Spain got its liberty
broke free from his dictatorship
n started threading the path of development.

He built his own burial ground
Valle de los caidos
(Valley of the fallen)
it's huge, set in the midst of nature
i felt like i could hear my echo if i shouted

I imagine it must be an emotional trip
for the Spanish, esp the elderlys
if they had witnessed Franco's reign..
the Spanish resent him, except the Fascists.
Alberto didnt even wanna take pics there

PARTTTTY Wkend!

We kick started our wkend
with a yummylicious meal at Fosters' Hollywood
AMERICAN FOOD!
I was oh-so-surprised when Alberto suggested it
i dig good old american calories-filled food
while he hates it to bits
bt looks who's the fat mama nw?!
HAH!
so after a toiling exhausting week,
we gave in to beer, ribs and cheese sticks..

Another feast on Saturday afternoon
at a Chinese restaurant
Chinese food in Spain is everywhere!
it's nt authentic bt better than nothing..
Alberto adores meehooon.

I know we shld really stop our feasting habit man!

PARTYING Saturday night
so we relaxed all day just to gather our energy for the night!
it all started with this shot in the salsa bar..
*althou me n Alberto had our lil drinking session at home before hitting the bars* ;)

Alberto's gd fren-cum-colleague Jon came!
we finalli got him n Melinda to meet (hek..hek)
he brought his fren along thou! was such a pain..
