GREECE- Af Garisto! (Thank you)

It was all so worth it.
One of the most beautiful countries I've seen.
Simply love Greek food, culture, history and of cos, their beaches.
We splurged, but we saw and experienced soo much.

Crete was beautiful to begin with.
We rented a car for a good deal - Alberto was ecstatic abt our 'roadtrip'
the island was huge, so we drove around alot, beach-hopping
looking for their most exotic beach and towns..
It was all about lying under the sun,
relaxing to the cool breeze
Chilling in the beach bars, sipping greek beer (o-so-good)
and eating lotsa good food, I adore their Moussaka, Tzatiki and meat souvlaki!
yes, as how Alberto calls it, it's a gastronomic trip man!
Night falls, n we wld be out having nice dinner n drinking *alot*

Weather was perfect! Wasnt deep summer yet
so it didnt get too hot, n it wasnt crowded at all
infact Crete was alil quiet, where we lived
was good, cos hate the brit crowd, they tend to dominate european islands

Anyho, the best part of the trip was probably Santorni
it's always been my dream to visit the island, aft seeing it on tv n reading abt it.
Santorini was one of the most beautiful places I've been to..
White-washed houses stagged on steep slopes,
with blue domes of monatery peekingthru' them
Lotsa restaurants with beautful view of the dark coloured Aegean sea.
Perfect view.

reminded us of Naples coast in Italy..
but this was better than anything we'e seen.
Rented another car on the island since we cldnt bring our dear Kia Picanto
Alberto insisted on continuing with our road trip
I thot we were gonna die! when Alberto fought thr the scarily step slopes in our pathetically tiny hyundai..I seriously prayed to have our lives spared lol
The volcanic island had its own unique architecture, lifestyle, history..
it just intrigued me how a small tiny island could outshine anywhere ard it..
loved it to bits.
I know i'll be there someday again.

Next was Athens - ah! the city full of history and life.
Hustling and bustling with activities. When we got there,
after an overnite cruise *yeh a huge one, gt cheap tix bt had to sleep on floor*
quite a cultural shock when we gt there, having got used to island life..
Acropolis was indefinitely our first stop
Amazed me every single time we visit a historical site..
how much history they've got,
soo much to hear and imagine
Alberto tells me alot abt stories during Greek empire,
Greek mythology (yay bought a book on it) n how they were the first empire in the world

The Parthenon and Temple of Olympus-Zeus were incredible
they looked like they were falling apart, when u look close enuff,
u can just imagine that thousands of years of age accumulated in them..
I'm glad Alberto told me all that interesting stories,
so I could understand all that Greek historical monuments..

It could be the trip of the year, I say.
Havent got much annual leave left for more eventful holidays
so guess this is it.
but I'll be back in Greece
almost close to Paradise..
