Sad, sad news

Today was Vimal's last day of work
he just got laid off by the company! ;(
Nobody expected this, until Hazel called me in, and told me abt it
Shocking - they didnt even give him any notice watsoever
im sad..he's like my first fren in UK
he turns everything into a joke
and brings us so much laughter..
You just can never predict wats the next step in your life..

Just watched this documentary on Chinese pple in Britain
tonite's episode was probably the most disturbing
Chinese takeaway owners getting harassed by British kids
One of them actually got brutally beaten up by a dozen of Brit teenagers
and he just died...after a mth of coma
it just hits me so badly...so badly..

They showed many cases of Chinese families here
A 16 yr old brit kid, who was bornt here, has disowned his family
the words from his father:' we'r a failure, we came to UK to give my family a good life, but I resent all the time i've spent on work, n neglected my family. We'r not staying here for the money anymore, we'r staying here for the kids' - but even that, seems meaningless aft all..
I really wonder,
why not go home, pack n leave n go back to where u FEEL u belong
but I guess it's never that easy..esp for tradition pple like them...
I've never felt that way here, dont worry
I'm doing great adapting to new life here.

I've never been in touch with my Chinese roots since I've been here,
I dunno, maybe it's cos of how traditional Chinese pple here are..
I never knew the extend of racism here until I experienced it myself
A few weeks back, we encountered a few juvenile delinquents at the busstop
probably only 12 yrs old - a group of black boys n mixed girls
they started spraying their confetti at me..
didnt stop when i told him to..
the black kid imitated the way I screamed at him in that pseudo-Chinese way
Alberto went up n scolded them - wat kinda education did those kids get
I was in shock, n went to Alberto to stop him
but that made them happier - they were threatening Alberto to hit him
I shouted afew vulgarities at the fuckin racist bitch, told them to go back to school n behave
and the black boy actually threw his can at me.
I picked up the can and ran after them, i swear i was gonna kill them, armed with the can.
I was appalled, disgusted and i hold no respect watsoever for the kinda behaviour that British pple have..
Wat kinda upbringing, wat kinda education dothese kids have??
I pity them..
Pathetic..

I know I'm not gonna stay in the UK for long
it's not exactly a great place
but I am enjoying my new life, my new frens and of cos, Alberto..
