Rich culture and beauty in Bali
A short trip to Bali with Mel and Jon,
who came all the way from Spain to visit!
The last time I had come to this unique Indonesian island,
I'd spent drunken sun-kissed days on the beach,
but never had I known the rural beauty
& intriguing culture of this one-of-its-kind island.

Temple rules had us dorning sarongs around our waist
as a form of respect for the gods.
Driving thru downtown Denpasar,
we found this colourful night market
that was full of vibrant energy and bright fruits...

Chancing upon a cultural center,
we were in for a treat!
Bali has got all types of traditional dances..
these dancers perform the famous Legong Dance,
in their amazing costumes, and enchanting movements.
Huge bronze statue of the Hindu god Lord Wisnu.
It actually composed of him riding on his Garuda bird,
with flames of holy wisdowm surrounding him.

Bali has got so many different faces to it-
driving just minutes away from the tourist-flooded Kuta beach,
you get an insightful glimpse into the traditional Indonesian lifestyle
rows and rows of Rice Paddy terraces
and locals bending over, walking on their rice fields..
